Most of you are aware of the construction on going on Council. We attended a meeting with The City of Oklahoma City and the contractors.
The initial portion of the project is to install a water line from N.W.50th and Council to N.W. Expressway and Council. The water line will initially provide water from Lake Draper to the Overholser Water treatment plant and then to the residents. Eventually the water line will go from Lake Draper to the Hefner treatment plant and then to the residents. The project is 7 phases and will take approximately one year to complete. Phase one is North of 50 down Council, phase 2 is underway and is expected to take about 3 months to complete. This phase will impact traffic along RiverBend Blvd. During this time River Bend Boulevard will be restricted to one side or the other of the Boulevard.
Due to construction, Council at various times will be limited to one lane of traffic for North and South bound There will also be times that a portion of Council will be completely closed, but no longer than 3 days at a time. Traffic will be re-routed to Rockwell. Prior to the closure of lanes and streets, we will be given ample notice to notify our homeowners. N.W. 63rd will NOT be closed at any time. In addition, as part of the construction, Council Road will be completely resurfaced.
Oklahoma City Traffic Management meets regularly with the OKC Fire Department, Oklahoma City Police and EMSA to provide updates so each service is well aware of street closures.
In addition, a MAPS project to install sidewalks on the East side of Council, North from Wilshire will be started sometime during the placement of this water line
The City of OKC and the contractors committed to us that they will provide regular updates. We will continue to provide information to the homeowners via Facebook, email and the website.
